Are We Ready?

This little peanut is trying her HARDEST to crawl! She pushes onto her hands and knees and rocks back and forth trying to move. So cute. Loved this pic... so funny her bum up in the air. She's SOOOOO close. Are we ready for her to start being mobile? Probably not! But we're excited!

And she now has 2 teeth! (Not fun for nursing!!!)

Hide & Seek

Can you find Zoey?
So funny. This is what we found when we got home tonight. She was sound asleep!

So Grateful...

With the Thanksgiving Holiday season upon us, I've been thinking a lot about what I am thankful for. Nick and I are so blessed. So, here's a list of things that make my life great.

- Our beautiful baby girl. Love her! Of Course! I can't imagine our family without her.
- Our families. They're the best, and would (and do) give anything for us.
- That I can stay home with Zoey.
- That I have an amazing husband that allows me to stay home even though money is tight.
- Our home. I LOVE the way it has turned out. (Pics of our latest project coming later.)
- Friends. We have the BEST friends in the world.
-Lots of little things like... clean sheets on the bed, hot chocolate, coke slushies, teaching my cheerleaders and dancers new things, the sun shining on freshly fallen snow, music to dance to, and Zoey taking long naps.

I know there is so much more, but these are what's on my mind right now. What are you thankful for?

Thankful

I am so thankful for Nick. He's been out of town for work all week and I am so glad to have him back. It's hard to be a single mom without him! He's a great daddy. Plus he just makes me laugh. Zoey and I are so lucky to have him.

All That Glistens Isn't Gold...

I just got my nails done yesterday. (My nail girl is FANTASTIC by the way! I ALWAYS get compliments on my nails. Love her! Thanks Breanna.) I picked out this pretty sparkly gold. It's a gorgeous fall color, like the color of the leaves when they change. I really love it!

Nick wasn't sold on the color. And he's especially not now since I changed Zoey's diaper and my nails were the same color of her little present inside! So I thought I was picking out a beautiful fall gold when really I picked out baby poop yellow!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I still like my nails, but let's just say I probably won't get this color again!

6 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days

That is how long it's been since our beautiful baby girl came into our lives. I can't tell you how much she means to us. She went to the doctor for her well child check up and more shots today. She weighs 17 lbs. 15 oz. and is 26.5 inches long. Still in the 90th percentile!

Some random stuff about Zoey
(for journaling purposes but you're welcome to read on!):

She cut her first tooth two days ago.
(Although you can't really see it in this picture.)

She was sleeping through the night,
but the flu and her tooth messed that up.
She's almost there again.

She is VERY ticklish. And we LOVE to tickle her!

She sits up without support.

She pushes onto her hands and knees
(sometimes onto her hands and toes) but doesn't crawl yet.

She likes to pull at hair, glasses, hats, earrings, etc.
Pretty much anything she can reach.

She likes to play in her exer-saucer.
It sure comes in handy when I need to get something done!

She LOVES children. She wants so badly to be able to run and play with them.

She babbles ALOT! Putting together consonant and vowel sounds (ba, ga, da, etc.)

Just recently she has become quite the mammas girl!
She always wants to be with me.
I love it, but it's hard when I have to leave for work.

She doesn't like baby food yet. She's tried cereal, carrots, sweet potatoes, and green beans. Sweet potatoes have been her fave so far.

She now protests when you take away something she wants

Her 3-6 months clothes fit, but not for much longer. She fits better into 6-9 months.

And it never fails, she always gives her mommy the poopy diapers! Just before I leave for work or before Nick gets home she will poop. I always ask her why she can't wait 10 more minutes so that daddy or the babysitter will have to change them. She just smiles! She is already so stubborn and opinionated. People say that girls are much harder to raise than boys, and I believe it. I'm already seeing her feistiness and little temper (that she gets from Nick), and her adorable personality. She teases already. She will look away from you when you call her name and then smile. We love her and are so blessed to have her in our family. She's perfect!

HaPpY HaLLoWeEn!

We had a fantastic time celebrating Zoey's first Halloween. Here's her in her adorable butterfly costume. Those chubby cheeks just complete the outfit! We went to a couple of parties the last couple of weekends with some good friends. And yesterday we spent time with both of our families. We went to my parents house and had homemade pizzas with my parents, and my brothers family. This pic is of Zoey with her cousins Ben and Isabel. Ben HATED putting his costume on. He screamed and pulled at it, so this is the best picture I got of him.

Isabel was Cinderella. So adorable!
Then we went trunk or treating with Nick's parents, his sister and her family, and his brother and his family. This is a shot of all the kids... Braylon (Wolverine), Zoey, Bentley (butterfly), Kaylen (vampire), Colby (Harry Potter), and Venezia (Pirate).

It was lots of fun. Zoey didn't quite know what to think of all the people in costumes but she was really good.

This is Nick's sister, Kari, playing with Zoey. She is prego and due April. We can't wait! After that, we went and visited our friends, Jeff and Kim. Their baby, Brady, was a pumpkin but we didn't get a picture cuz he was already asleep when we got there. All in all, a fun-filled Halloween! Now we're looking forward to Zoey's first Thanksgiving! On a side note... a couple of new things that Zoey likes:
Playing in her bathtub

sucking in her upper lip and holding her breath

and her TOES!
